4th Artistic Research Meeting – Teaching in Acting Practice

–Event Date Change Notification–
Please note that our upcoming event, originally scheduled for October 10–12, has been rescheduled to November 27–30.
We dedicate the event to the memory of Olu Taiwo, whose visionary work, deep wisdom, and generous spirit shaped the lives of countless artists, educators, and thinkers.
His legacy continues to resonate through the communities he inspired.
On the first day of the event — November 27th, from 12:00 to 15:00 (Greek time), we will hold a special hybrid gathering (online and in person) for those who wish to share memories, reflections, and past collaborations with Olu.
This session will be a space for honoring his legacy, exchanging stories, and celebrating the profound impact he had on our lives and work.
We appreciate your understanding regarding the date change and look forward to welcoming you in November for a meaningful and unforgettable gathering.
After this summer’s successful event, info here, we decided to organize a fourth event with a wide range of events, including research papers and presentations as well as discussions, online and in person, workshops and performances, and party nights in Marathon.
Bringing together practitioners and scholars in the field of Actor Education, this year’s conference will also celebrate the launch of a new programme for the Actor Education Initiative, to be run by Makings of the Actor in Marathon, Greece, with the support of several acting experts from around the world. By reviewing and re-evaluating existing methods prevalent in actor training, our initiative aims to address the holistic training of the actor in the 21st century in order to establish new perspectives and approaches in the field of acting.
In this artistic meeting we will meet in a different environment from our work, discuss freely, get to know each other, exchange views and experiences and create artistic works together.
In the center of symposia since ancient times, in Greece and specifically in the Marathon, we will meet to create artistic works in a different environment from that of a formal institution, such as the beach of Marathon, in dining areas and in nature. We will organise discussions over lunch and dinner, as well as music, theatre and dance evenings.
For those interested in presenting their performances we provide the technical support.
